I’m Olivier Frayssinet, a trained sommelier and the founder of La Cave des Épicuriens in Antibes.
My passion for wine began in fine dining establishments, where I learned from top sommeliers and developed my skills in top tier European wine cellars catering to a varied clientele.
Today, my pleasure is simple: welcoming you, listening, advising—and offering you beautiful wine experiences.
 
															Early Days in Gastronomy
Wine made its way into my life early on, during my time in fine dining across the French Riviera, the Alps, the Gironde, and Switzerland, under the guidance of expert sommeliers. They shared their passion and knowledge with me, at a point where I realized this has to be my path.
My ambition became clear: to receive the best training possible and to one day convey that same passion.
Moving to United Kingdom
After a sabbatical dedicated to deepening my love for wine, I chose London—a world-renowned epicenter of wine education—to push myself academically and professionally.
I passed the demanding Master Sommelier examination, earning the title of “Sommelier Advance” (Grade 3). I worked in several Michelin starred restaurants and was engaged in sommelier competition : I was named the 4th Best Sommelier in the UK in 2017 (2nd among the under-30). Then served as a brand manager for a leading international house across Europe.
These enriching experiences have also had the benefit of making me perfectly bilingual.
Homecoming to the South of France
After eight years of international experiences, I felt the pull to return to France and reconnect with my Mediterranean roots. I chose Antibes for its unique art of living and the joy of engaging with its people.
In 2022, I acquired this wine shop in Antibes and gave it a new life as La Cave des Épicuriens. And now, our shared story continues—every visit you make writes a new page.
